Kyle Ozechowski has been a licensed mental health counselor since November of 2011 and a licensed psychologist since 2015. He received his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 2004 and his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Washington School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Seattle in 2013. Kyle completed his APPIC approved internship working with neurodevelopmental disorders at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2013.

Kyle has 9 years of experience working with a variety of clients across a broad variety of settings. Kyle’s main passion is to work with children and adolescents and he has over 8 years of experience working with children who have emotional and behavioral problems. He has had experience working in the foster care system, juvenile rehabilitation, community mental health, The Department of Corrections, and with Native American clients. Kyle has experience working with a number of different issues including behavioral problems, neurodevelopmental and executive functioning deficits, trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, and autism spectrum disorders as well as adjustment disorders and difficulties managing daily life.

In addition to counseling, Kyle also has experience providing training to families and professionals, and has taught in the Psychology Department at Western Washington University as adjunct faculty. He provides initial mental health assessment, individual counseling, family therapy, parent coaching, and group therapy. He would also like to pursue psychological assessments including developmental disorders, cognitive functioning, learning disabilities, and personality assessment.

Kyle has been trained in and has experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Humanistic and Person-Centered Therapies, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychodynamic, and Developmental approaches. Kyle approaches therapy using an eclectic model that builds off several different forms of therapy and is flexible to the individual’s strengths and needs. While he has a passion for working with children and adolescents, he also has experience with college students and young adults, adults, and older adults.

Kyle moved to Washington from the Midwest in 2006. He grew up in a small town in Northeast Wisconsin, moved to larger cities such as Madison, WI, Denver, CO, and Seattle, WA before returning to his small town roots and settling in the Skagit Valley with his family. Kyle has a wife and two children, two dogs and the makings of a small family farm with several chickens. In his spare time Kyle enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, hunting, and athletics. He enjoys playing and watching sports and he has competed as a mixed martial artist. Kyle’s priorities are God, family, friends, and the community.
