Opening up about your mental health can feel difficult, especially with someone you are meeting for the first time. You do not need to find the perfect words or share everything at once. We can begin with what feels most important to you.
I’m Etenesh Ketema, and I go by Lily. I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who values careful listening, open communication, and care that respects your individual experiences.
I take a trauma-informed approach and consider how your physical health, cultural background, relationships, and life circumstances may influence your mental well-being. Together, we will explore treatment options and develop a plan that reflects your needs, preferences, and goals.
During our first appointment, we will talk about what brought you in, your symptoms, medical and mental health history, and any treatments you have tried. We will also discuss what you hope to change and consider options that may help.
At follow-up visits, we will review your progress, discuss how treatment is working, and address concerns or medication side effects. We can adjust your plan as we learn what works best for you.
I encourage questions throughout our work together. I want you to understand your options and feel comfortable sharing what is helping, what is difficult, and what you would like to approach differently.
I provide care for adolescents, adults, and older adults from diverse backgrounds. Appointments are available at Shifa Health’s Everett / Silver Lake office and through telehealth.
I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management, with attention to the other factors that support mental well-being.
Depending on your needs, our appointments may also include brief supportive therapy, coping strategies, and discussion of lifestyle changes. My goal is to help you build a practical treatment plan that supports both symptom relief and everyday functioning.

Board Certification: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I gained more than eight years of registered nursing experience, including six years in medical-surgical nursing at Harborview Medical Center and experience in inpatient psychiatric care.
Working in both medical and psychiatric settings deepened my understanding of the connection between physical and mental health. Caring for people from diverse cultural backgrounds also reinforced the importance of understanding each person’s beliefs, experiences, and circumstances when planning treatment.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and exploring new places. I love learning about different cultures, trying new foods, and decorating my home.
Time with loved ones and life’s simple moments help me relax and recharge.
