Heather Sebastian

ARNP Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

As a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, I am licensed and trained to diagnose and treat mental health disorders in adults. Our work together may involve a range of interventions such as lifestyle coaching, therapy, and/or medication. If needed, I might suggest testing to gather more information about your physical health and genetics, which can enhance the effectiveness of your treatment.

In our first meeting, my main focus is to build a positive and trusting working relationship with you, as this is essential for effective treatment and a successful path to recovery. During the initial evaluation, I will conduct a thorough assessment of your overall well-being, health history, personal values, and treatment goals.

I am a compassionate provider and believe in working with patients to find a personalized plan that respects their goals, beliefs, and lifestyles. I use a patient-centered approach to promote effective, compassionate mental health care through evidence-based psychiatry practices. I believe in educating patients about their mental health so that each patient will be empowered to make informed decisions about their care. I am dedicated to restoring hope – I treat the person, not the diagnosis.

What to Expect from Your Appointments:

A nurturing atmosphere where every patient is valued and heard. Initial evaluations are typically 1.5 hours and the follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. I want to hear about your life story, and the assessment will not just be about your symptoms. Your goals are important to me. During our time together, I like to get a sense of how you are taking care of yourself, and help you develop healthier lifestyle routines that ultimately help improve your mental health.
