Shifa Telehealth Video Visits

Then “Video Visits” or “Telehealth” is your answer. Both mean the same.

Like you may do facetime or skype with your friends and family, you can see your doctor with these Video Visits.

The difference is the system. We use the HIPPA compliant system for your privacy and confidentiality.

Due to all the consequences and closures, you may need to see your provider more than before. But you also need to stay home to avoid getting or spreading infection.

Video visits allow you to receive your care without a trip to your doctor’s office. You don’t have to take time away from work or family responsibilities. You don’t waste time traveling, or money on parking or public transportation.

All you need is a way to see and hear with internet access. Any smartphone, a tablet, a laptop, or a computer with a webcam and a microphone could work.

With these visits, you will be able to see and hear your provider, and your provider will be able to see and listen to you.

Many insurances cover it. Others are starting to cover due to Coronavirus. For example, Medicare, LNI, and many others. In case they don’t, we also offer private pay discounts.

Telehealth

We have been able to help even seniors afraid of using technology, be able to use video visits. Once they figure out, they enjoy being able to see their doctors without leaving home.

In this video, Dr. Rozina shares some of the steps that would make it easier.

Here are some instructions on how to connect via different devices. https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting

Still not sure if you are “tech-savvy” enough? Call our office to schedule a “test appointment” with one of our support staff so you can see just how easy it is.

Currently, all our providers are available to see you via telehealth.

Here is some information that might make you feel more confident about getting the care you need.

Are Video chat apt the same as telehealth, telepsych, or telemedicine?

Yes. These are different terms when we use technology to meet your healthcare needs.

Why is a video chat better than telephone apt?

With a telephone appointment, you can talk to your doctor but can’t see them. When you can also view your doctor, and your doctor can observe you, you feel more connected. Furthermore, your provider can make decisions based on observation.

Is telemedicine safe?

Telemedicine is a safe and effective way to get your mental health care. We maintain the same standards of care, privacy, and confidentiality.

Studies have shown that appropriately used Video visits can give the same desired results as in-person care.

Can I change my current appointment to video chat apt?

Yes, as long as you give enough time. Staff needs time to set up your meeting link and send it to you. In some cases, we can do the change on the same day, but most of the time, you would need to request it at least one business day before your appointment.

No transportation time or costs

When you see your doctor on your mobile device or computer, you can save money on gas, parking, and public transportation. Even better, you don’t waste time traveling or risk running into a traffic jam that makes you late for your appointment, or worse, late getting back to work.

No need to take time off of work

Video visits mostly remove the need to take time off. You can schedule your appointment during a break, or before or after work. You can be anywhere that offers sufficient privacy. Many people go to their car and talk from there. You can follow your doctor’s instructions without missing a day of work or wasting your precious paid time off.

Eliminate child or eldercare issues
Many of us have the responsibility of caring for children or older adults. Finding alternative care so that you can see the doctor can be difficult and expensive. Bringing them along can be stressful or impractical. Fortunately, you can see your doctor while taking care of your family responsibilities.

Less Chance of Catching a New Illness
While everyone does their best to prevent one patient from catching something from another, it is always possible, especially in crowded waiting rooms. By staying home, you get the care you need while avoiding the risk of exposure and the chance that you’ll pass your illness on to someone else.

Less Time in the Waiting Room

If you choose a video visit, you’ll eliminate all that time spent looking at old magazines in a doctor’s office.

Better Health

When you can see your doctor as often as you need to, without the challenges of getting into the office, you can practice better management of your medication, lifestyle, and any chronic conditions you might have.

Providing your care through Video Visits is one of the ways we are trying to make your life a little bit easier for you.
