Dorothy Hale
MSN, ARNP, PMHNP-BC
Are you looking for a compassionate mental health provider for your self or someone you care about? Then I can help.
Hello, my name is Dorothy Hale. I’m a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals across the lifespan—from young children to older adults.
Philosophy of Care
I believe that healing is not linear—and that each person’s story deserves to be met with empathy, curiosity, and clinical expertise. My work blends medication management with brief therapeutic support and integrative psychiatry. Grounded in neuroscience and holistic frameworks, my care is collaborative and individualized, always attuned to your values, identity, and goals. My aim is to help you move through overwhelm with clarity, strengthen your connection to self, and build lasting emotional resilience.
Ages and Conditions Treated
I provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals ages 6 to 90 years, supporting a wide range of mental health concerns across the lifespan, including:
- Mood Disorders: Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder
- Anxiety Disorders: Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety, Phobias
- Trauma-Related Disorders: PTSD, Complex Trauma
- Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders: OCD, Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors
- Neurodevelopmental Disorders: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (supportive/adjunctive care)
- Psychotic Disorders: Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder
- Reproductive and Perinatal Mental Health: PMDD, perinatal/postpartum depression and anxiety, fertility-related stress
- Grief, Adjustment, and Life Transitions: caregiving stress, divorce, identity shifts, major life changes
- Sleep Disorders: such as insomnia related to psychiatric symptoms
- Substance Use (Mild–Moderate): and dual diagnosis support when appropriate
I also offer care for individuals managing complex or overlapping conditions that don’t always fit into one diagnosis.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your first visit is a courageous step, and I honor the vulnerability it takes to seek help. During our initial session, we will complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that explores your current concerns, past experiences, and goals for treatment. This conversation forms the foundation of a personalized care plan that supports not just symptom relief, but your overall well-being. Together, we will co-create a path forward that feels authentic, grounded, and aligned with the life you envision.
A Little More About Me
When I’m not working, you can find me near the ocean or in the woods– spending time with friends and family. I love to read, connect with my community, and I enjoy greeting every passing dog. Whether in practice or in life, I believe in showing up with curiosity, integrity, and clear intention.
